Welsh Netball are holding a fantastic National sporting event that will not only celebrate individual and team achievements in Wales but will act as the main end-of-season focus for what is the UK’s leading women and girls’ sport. The purpose of the awards is to honour the outstanding contribution made by dedicated Netball volunteers and athletes throughout Wales across a range of different categories. On the night we will be fundraising for our main charity Ty Hafan who we have supported throughout the season and will continue to do so as it is such a fantastic cause.
The categories are:
1. Club of the Year.
2. Young Coach of the Year
3. Coach of the Year
4. High Performance Umpire of the Year
5. Community Umpire of the Year
6. Teacher of the Year
7. Hub of the Year
8. Team Manager of the Year.
9. Future Player Award
10. Most improved Player Award
11. Performance Player of the Year
12. Unsung hero of the Year
We also have the Mary French Lifetime Achievement Award. This is not open for nomination but will be awarded to someone who has given lengthy service to Netball in Wales . Past winners include Pam Lane , Jen Sealey, Pam Owen, Ann Humphreys and Tessa Williams, to name a few.
Coaches and volunteers are at the heart of our sport –And that’s why Welsh Netball wants to recognise people at all levels – including those who work morning, noon and night at your local club.
